This is a ‘makki’ surah and it has 54 verses. It is narrated that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) said that whoever recites this surah, on the Day of Judgement, all the Prophets and Messengers will come to meet him. In a saying from Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) it is mentioned that whoever recites surah Saba and surah Fatir at night, he will remain under the protection of Allah (s.w.t.) for the whole night. The reward for reciting this surah is so great that when it is seen in the book of deeds, the reciter’s heart will be filled with joy. Wearing this surah as a talisman or drinking its water removes fear from one’s heart and keeps one safe from enemies and wild animals.
